trying to insert own pics over template - Website Babble Webmaster ... by Website templates html code

I know enough about photoshop but first time out with dreamweaver. Can I just go to the insert menu? Does the replacement pic have to be saved as html ready? What happens to the image &code that I paste over? Thanks! ...
